Porvoo Chorus is a member of an international women's barbershop organisation, Sweet Adelines International. There are about 30 000 members in about 600 choruses and 600-700 quartets from different countries all over the world. There are members from USA, Canada, England, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Greece, Germany, Japan, Hawaii, Panama, Mexico, Dubai, Israel and all the others that have reently joined the organisation.

Porvoo Chorus keeps in contact with the USA, but the connection with Sweden is especially strong one, because Finland with other Scandinavian countries belong to the same region in the international organisation. The region is called, Nordic Light Region. In Sweden barbershop singing is very popular: there are more than 15 choruses and nearly 30 quartets registered in Sweet Adelines International.

Through its membership of an international organisation Porvoo Chorus has been able to take part in high quality musical training and competitions held annually and to have so many friends from all over the world.
