| HISTORY |
|
Barbershop singing started at the end of the 19th century in the American barbershops, while the men were aiting for their turn in the berber's chair. They started to sing popular melodies of the day. Some sang the melody, others harmonised and improvised their own tunes. Gradually the style of singing took shape: it was sang in a four part harmony, in a cappella aiming a sound beautiful to the ears. |
